Roxette - Charm School

Our rating: ****
Charm School (Deluxe Edition)

ten long years, fans had to wait until Marie Fredriksson and Per Gessle submit to Room Service (2001) finally a new album. but not much has changed since the duo writes still timeless songs. Roxette, with over 70 million albums sold, one of the most successful pop duos of the last three decades, to make the twelve tracks on Charm School seamlessly from old glory days. And that is meant quite positive. In both experiments, supported by the producers have decided not Öfwerman Clarence and Christoffer Lundquist, anyway. From the first song, the mid-tempo anthem "Way Out", the Swedish duo is playing his old strengths. Fredriksson and Gessle know just exactly how a perfect pop song should sound. This is especially the already successful as single She's Got Nothing On (But The Radio), a typical Roxette-hymns, equipped with an irresistible chorus and catchy mid-tempo number "Speak To Me" significantly. But with "In My Own Way" also has an old song that was created in 1984, long before Roxette international success, found after a long aging process the way to Charm School. Other highlights of the album also includes the emotional spine-tingling ballad "I'm Glad You Called" and the title "After All", a wonderful bow of the duo before the Beatles.
